Back at work

August 20, 2008

Well it is Wednesday August 20th and I’m back at church.  It has been an exciting week and half.  Today is was really difficult to leave the house, I would have been more than happy to spend another day hanging with the family.  But I have plenty I need to do here and am excited about getting things rolling.

I’m sure I will have many blogs about our first born in the weeks to come.  In case you haven’t heard he was born Monday, August 11th at 6:42 PM and weighed 7lb 12oz.   He showed up about 2 1/2 weeks early.

I have some good quotes ahead and was tempted to use a couple today but I will wait.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Baby Update

July 16, 2008

The day is quickly approaching and we cannot wait!  We have about six weeks left before the baby (Noah) is born.  Everyone tells us to enjoy this time, enjoy your sleep, enjoy this or that.  Well I appreciate all the well meaning advice, but it is kind of like telling a five year old to enjoy his sleep on Christmas Eve.

My wife has recently gone back to school.  She teaches year-round and now has 24 new Kindergarten children.  Pray for her!  We also head back to the doctor this week on Thursday.  Every time we go out now people ask when are baby is due and each time they say we will never make it.  Saturday our server didn’t ask when he just asked if we were having twins.

That is pretty much what we have going on with the baby, hope everyone is doing well.

Back from Indiana

June 13, 2008

Jenn and I went to Indiana over the weekend for a baby shower and church on Sunday.  Jenn and her mom came back on Monday and I made it back Wednesday evening.

The trip was too quick, as always, but really good.  My sister gave us a baby shower on Saturday afternoon and it was fun to see some people I hadn’t seen in years, or in some cases months.  Although I was the only guy there (with the exception of my Dad who didn’t come out of the kitchen) it was nice to see everyone.  Thanks for all the great gifts, you will be receiving you Thank You notes soon, I hope.

On Sunday Emir Caner was preaching at FBC Sellersburg and it was awesome.  If you haven’t heard his testimony or his brother’s (Ergun) search for them on the web (this is the place most bloggers would include a link, sorry I’m lazy).  Then on Sunday night I had the chance to preach.  I always enjoy the opportunity to preach and am always blown away by the faces I see and support I receive.

After some time with my grandparents, a couple rounds of golf, some Wii Olympics, and a few card games I headed by to Wendell.  Thank you to all who made this trip home so memorable for us.  We look forward to our next trip, but it will be much different, with THREE Walton’s making the trip.

I’ll try to blog more in the next few weeks, but with VBS this week it might be tough.
