This might be the last Monday Quote for the year. Jenn and I are heading to Indiana on Thursday for about a week, but who knows Christmas Eve might be a good time for a quote.
Well I’m going to keep with the Christmas Carol theme today. Silent Night is a favorite carol for many and probably not many church Christmas themed events past with out singing it at least once. It was written as a poem in 1816 by an Austrian (“hey mate put another shrimp on the barbie”, Dumb and Dumber, two for one quote today) priest, Joseph Mohr.
Today’s quote will just focus on the last two lines of the third verse:
“Jesus, Lord, at thy birth. Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.”
Jesus was in fact Lord as he laid in the manger, but the truth is he was Lord before he laid in the manger, he was Lord when he was on the cross, and he is Lord today. Today the challenge is to examine your life and ask, “is there any area in which I do not all him to be Lord.”
Merry Christmas
Matt
