Suffiency of Scripture

April 30, 2007

Today’s blog fits well into my title of unoriginal thoughts and ideas, it was gained from a lecture by Dr. Stephen Wade at Southeastern Seminary.

7 Implications of the Suffiency of Scripture

1.)    I can be encouraged to know what God wants me to be, think, and do.

2.)    Reminds us that we are to add nothing to scripture and that we are to consider no other words as equal value.

3.)    Tells us that God does not require us to believe anything about himself   or  his redemptive work that is not found in the Word.

4.)    No modern revelation from God is to be placed on level equal to scripture.

5.)    Reminds us that nothing is sin that is not forbidden by scripture either explicitly or by implication.

6.)    Nothing is required by God that is not commanded in Scripture either explicitly or by implication.

7.)     Reminds us that in our doctrinal, ethical, or moral teaching we emphasis what scripture emphasizes.

The Blogging World

April 26, 2007

I never exactly been at the front of new fads, and the world of blogging is no different.

If you wonder what you might find stopping by here occasionally the title says it all.  I have learned in life that very few thoughts in life are original to me. If I limited this blog to those those original thoughts the post would few and far between.

The page might be a little boring in the beginning, but hang with me and we will see what we can do.  Please stop by often and comment when you can.  The purpose of all this takes on many forms, some days it will be to make your laugh, some days to make your think, and other days it will brainwash you about the Colts and Cubs.
