Today’s blog fits well into my title of unoriginal thoughts and ideas, it was gained from a lecture by Dr. Stephen Wade at Southeastern Seminary.
7 Implications of the Suffiency of Scripture
1.) I can be encouraged to know what God wants me to be, think, and do.
2.) Reminds us that we are to add nothing to scripture and that we are to consider no other words as equal value.
3.) Tells us that God does not require us to believe anything about himself or his redemptive work that is not found in the Word.
4.) No modern revelation from God is to be placed on level equal to scripture.
5.) Reminds us that nothing is sin that is not forbidden by scripture either explicitly or by implication.
6.) Nothing is required by God that is not commanded in Scripture either explicitly or by implication.
7.) Reminds us that in our doctrinal, ethical, or moral teaching we emphasis what scripture emphasizes.
